SOLD - I was inspired by my own consistent hurdle in taking my career in the artistic route: color. Colors are a key foundation for making spectacular art, and yet, I have not had this tool available; moreover, every “color" beside black & white look practically the same to me. With this in mind, I make my art to how I see it and do not further handicap myself by catering to how others see light. Whenever I talk about my point-of-view, people are enamored and fascinated with how I can live without such an essential... But it’s really not essential. I give you a painting in mosaic that looks all the same color to me with some noticeable differences in shade, while you see your own version. I took to glass, hand cut by myself, and made a mosaic with the most vibrant colors I could think of from past memories of what others have said regarding such colors to make hypnotizing whirlpool to your eye, yet doesn’t phase me. I wish that others will understand that the eye you see in the middle is a representation of myself, but can be your own eye, as I would hope that looking deeply into it, you will take note of your own vision and perhaps alter your thinking of life. “Colorless” flowers, “lifeless” skies, “gray” food; all these are supposed things only I can see, but this is my only life I will ever know. As most of you likely think we all see the same, our eyes can be just as deceiving as the brain... So, who’s to say you are not with the disability? Look at this world with a different perspective with me.
